L os niños y niñas del colegio de Jesús María en Ebebiyin celebraron el día de la  PAZ   manifestando los deseos para un mundo en el que vivamos el amor y demos vida a nuestro alrededor.  E n las clases se ha trabajado la paz a través de un cuento. E n otro momento han ido poniendo sus manos en un gran árbol como símbolo de la PAZ . P rescolar ha dado color a la vida plasmando sus manos en el árbol. E n Primaria , cada niño ha escrito sus palabras y deseos para la paz en una mano del papel. T ambién hemos aprendido canciones y bailes de la paz que pudimos cantar el día 30 de enero. W e, at Convent of Jesus and Mary Girls' High School, Vadodara organised a felicitation programme in honour of Mr. Harold D'Souza an ex-student of the 1980 batch on the 9 th  February 2016. M r. Harold D'Souza is an Indian American activist who was appointed by the then President of U.S.A., Mr. Barack Obama, to the Advisory Council against Slavery.  I t was a moment of pride and honour when Mr. Harold D'Souza shared his long, torturous and painful struggle about his experience with slavery and attributed his sense of courage and strength to fight during this journey, to the values gifted to him by the school and his teachers. WSG concludes Catholic Schools week with "Kindness Day" During the first week of February, we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. Our Catholic identity is the core of our community. We celebrate being a Catholic school all year long through special masses and daily prayer; but this week in particular, we celebrated our school community. One of the many important aspects of being a Catholic school is maintaining the fun, safe, and respectful learning environ­ment that our girls know and love. The students had an exciting week full of themed dress-up days, and ended with "Kindness Day" on Friday. The girls started the day of kindness with a prayer service followed by various activities in small groups demonstrating the positive ways in which they can respond to mistreatment. C elebrating the road safety campaign was initiated by the ISS India HSE (Health Safety and Environment) in order to make people aware about the national road safety in the Indian subcontinent. The aim of this campaign was to emphasize and accentuate people about the need of safe road travel by observing simple rules. A ccording to the information, it has been noted that approximately one lakh people lose their lives per year in the road accidents. Or some of them suffer from life threatening problems such as mental trauma, loss of memory, loss of hand or legs. It increases the importance of road safety measures. India has a very huge volume of traffic and commuters, so it is very important to make people aware of the safety measures and road pollution brewing from the huge volume of traffic. Convent of Jesus and Mary, Fort, Mumbai, India In the month of July, we had the inauguration of Eco Club which works with the Green line NGO of the Salesian fathers. The theme for this year was ‘Conservation of water’. We also participated in the competition organized by AOE (Archdiocesan Organisation for Protection of Environment). Collaboration with with “Sadhu Vaswani Mission” (Non-Christian) for P romotion of Peace. For Archbishop Inter Religious meeting held during the season of Advent on 18 th December, our students gave message on Forgiveness and Mercy which was well appreciated. Pune Biennale Foundation is an organisation established to bring Art, Architecture and Design for enhancing visual aesthetics in Pune. The foundation works towards positioning Pune on the global Art Scenario by promoting local talent for Art in public spaces. The flagship activity of the foundation will be the Pune Biennale which represents an inclusive movement that makes Art more public and accessible and creates a new space for appreciation and education about artistic traditions. A collaboration between Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune Biennale Foundation, Professional artists, art students and school children was the project:  “SPEAKING WALLS” which aims to build a community of aesthetic citizens who are aware of the rich heritage of the city. Lahore High Court Celebrated its’ 150 th Anniversary 15 th November 2016                                                         Lahore High Court celebrated its 150 th Anniversary on 15 th Nov. 2016. It invited selected schools to be part of their auspicious event in the history of the institute by participating in the Essay writing and Art Competition. The theme for Essay writing was “Concept of Justice” and for Art Competition “The importance of Justice in the Child’s Vision”.
