Witness of Rosie rjm Thought you might be interested in last Saturday's 'Caravan of Love' that Nat and I participated in with Enrique Morrones (founder and leader of the Border Angels) and his Border Angels.   We were one of 43 cars in this caravan leaving from the Border Angels small office in Barrio Logan in San Diego to head to five different sites in Tijuana where the migrants are located.   Cars were packed with various donated items needed by the migrants.   A large group with some health professionals from Colorado went to the new shelter 7 miles from the Otay border crossing, which is the replacement shelter after they left the Tijuana Sports Arena.   Another group went to the Sports Arena to bring food and clothing to the few remaining migrants.   The rest of us went to the Border Angels shelter on the beach next to the border wall in Tijuana Playas area.   There Nat and I met some of the Honduran migrants who helped unload and repack items going t...

Our Senior Section pay tribute to the late Asma Jehangir, a past pupil of our Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Lahore. She was a prominent human rights lawyer, social activist and pro democracy activist who was fearless in her condemnation of injustice everywhere and fearless as she championed the rights of women and minorities consistently. She fought for the downtrodden and marginalized everywhere. Despite continual death threats she continued her work until God called her home on February 11th 2018.

Harold D'Souza is an Indian American activist who was appointed by the then President of U.S.A., Mr. Barack Obama, to the Advisory Council against Slavery.  I t was a moment of pride and honour when Mr. Harold D'Souza shared his long, torturous and painful struggle about his experience with slavery and attributed his sense of courage and strength to fight during this journey, to the values gifted to him by the school and his teachers. INSTITUTO MEXICANO REGINA MODEL UNITED NATIONS IX EDITION On February 4, 2016 we held the 9th edition of IMRMUN (Instituto Mexicano Regina Model United Nations). The MUN is a simulation of UN sessions in which students assume the role of diplomats, representing various nations, debating, and reaching consensus to solve the problems currently affecting our planet. The conference is spoken entirely in English. To achieve this, our students conducted prior research that allowed them to have a better view of the country, to find workable solutions represented in an atmosphere of cooperation, and tolerance that would promote peace and justice. MARÍA HERRERA MAGDALENO MADRE DE 4 HIJOS DESAPARECIDOS INVITACIÓN A LA SOLIDARIDAD Hoy en México hay más de 30,000 personas desaparecidas. Muchas de ellas víctimas de la desaparición forzada, es decir, es el mismo gobierno (policía, soldados, marina) el desaparece a las personas. Este dolor profundo lo viven de modo especial los familiares de las personas desaparecidas. Muchas de ellas llevan años buscando a sus seres queridos.  Hoy se han formado distintos grupos y colectivos de familiares con desaparecidos que van tocando puertas del gobierno, de la sociedad civil y desde hace un tiempo, estos grupos buscan y encuentran fosas clandestinas en distintas partes de la República Mexicana…  Las y los invitamos a unirse, a solidarizarse con este dolor de México a través de la oración: Pidamos por estas hermanas y hermanos desaparecidos, por sus familias, y pedíamos también por nosotras, Religiosas de Jesús-María en México para que nos dejemos conmover y podamos acercarnos y acompañ...
