Province of USA-Haiti Our solar project at Alma Mater Hospital began in 2016.   One of our Board Members, Gaston Jean, and the generous donation of EDF HELP in collaboration with CEFREPADE and AOG (a local association) the hospital received a gift of 100 KW of solar energy with a new generator for emergency backup.

                     Convent of Jesus and Mary Toba Tek Singh Province of Pakistan According to the theme for this year some children shared the importance of water and how to save it.  Some of the children spoke about the beauty of mother earth and how climatic changes are affecting the earth. At the end of the program the Principal of school Sr. Clara Dewan was invited to give her views.  She advised to use natural resources wisely and peacefully. So, that we can be beneficiary for the country by saving the natural resources.  We observed 2 minutes silence to mobilize the inner peace. The program was ended by leaving C.J.M banner in the air with the message “Peace begins with a smile.” After national anthem children went to their classes. The entire program was disciplined and well arranged.

Convent oj Jesus and Mary School,  SIALKOT,  Province of Pakistan The ancient city of Sialkot was once a flourishing agricultural area that was full of beautiful, green flowering trees, shrubs, flowers and crops especially wheat and rice.   The air was free from pollution and the skies were a clear blue. On bright days one could see the Kashmir Mountain peaks covered with snow.   The two rivers – Tavi and Chenab were life-giving for the surrounding environment and for fish. With all this beauty, Sialkot has also become an industrial city.   As the growth of industry has increased around the world, Sialkot has been influenced by these effects.   Hence much cultivated land has been ruthlessly taken over for factories and residential areas.   This has caused much loss to the environment in many ways, including the uprooting of trees, less areas for cultivation, water polluted with chemicals and fresh air replaced by fog and bacteria, causing may diseases....

Delegation of Ireland Claire Marshall from concern gave a talk to TY students on the work that concern are doing worldwide. Part of the talk was a workshop on sustainability. The students were given the 17 global sustainable development goals, they had to discuss what they felt were the most important goals.  Part of the workshop looked at the vast food waste of irish people and promoted the need for us to provide greater care of our earth and the people on it.  The TY students will be arranging a Christmas jumper day in aid of Concern.

Delegation of Ireland Our 5 th Year, Senior Physics are working on a Sustainable Energy project. Our School sits in plain view of Killala Bay on the North West coast of Ireland. This coastline is continually pounded by a variety of Atlantic Ocean waves. They are researching the possibility of harnessing the energy of these waves. The will do an impact study on our environment and on our tourist industry. They will review different models of wave energy generating machines. Finally, they will try to adapt a generator to our Atlantic Ocean waves.

I meánscoil Íosa agus Muire in Inis Eiscir Abhainn, ghlac thart ar 120 dalta páirt sa dúshláin seo, eagraithe ag Ms O’Dowd. Bhí breis is 300 scoil agus 30,000 dalta ag glacadh páirt ar fud na tíre. I mbliana, cuirfear brábús a thuillfear ó Gaeilge24 i dtreo Chairde an Domhain. Is grúpa iad Cairde an Domhain a bhfuil sé mar sprioc acu dul i ngleic leis na ceisteanna ba mhó i dtaobh cheartas na timpeallachta os ár gcomhair, ó thruailliú plaistigh go briseadh síos na haeráide. The aim of this challenge was to encourage young people to try to speak Irish non-stop for one whole day – 24 hours – at home, at school, in shops and businesses, around the town, in sports clubs and with friends! Delegation of Ireland Last week was National Science week, with the theme of "Sustainability", when we did extra activities in our classes to highlight proper use and care of the Earth.

Safe Spray is a spot-on weed killer, made from safe household ingredients, that will kill weeds on patios, drive-ways and paving without exposing children or animals to harmful chemicals. The transition year team of Robert Hannon, Michael Kilcullen, Sean Quinn and David Hallinan won 3rd place in the county finals of the Student Enterprise Awards with their innovative eco-friendly product. It is available for sale in the local hardware store. Their idea was to create a non-toxic, non-chemical product that would kill weeds but have no harmful affect on the environment. Ireland
